About "Paper Flowers"

"Paper flowers" is one of two surrealist paintings I've done thus far.

It's named after a song by Evanescence, sung by Amy Lee.

About escaping inside yourself to a safe happy place when life gets unbearable.

The dog is a rescue we had when I was in college. Her name was Shanon, and she had epilepsy. There were times she'd have a seizure and the question would arise about whether we were being unkind not to euthanize her.

But dogs are people too. It's not fair to be threatened by them because they are superior to Humans.

We got Shannon's medication righted and she lived to a ripe old age. I like to think maybe for her, we were her safe happy place.
