In today’s interview, you’ll get to hear from American Author Mike Michalowicz (pronounced mi-‘kal-o-wits) .

If you’re an entrepreneur or an aspiring entrepreneur and you don’t yet know who this guy is, you’ll definitely want to check him out. He’s the author of eight books and still going strong.

In this interview, we’re focusing on his revolutionary book Profit First, Transform your business from a cash-eating monster to a money-making machine.

The book outlines a clear path to instant profits at any stage in your business.

I have to admit I’d had this one on my audible wishlist for a couple of years before I actually listened to the audio version. The reason is simple, I imagined I had to have a regular profit of some six or so figures before I’d somehow qualify to crack it open.

When I finally went through it, I realized I should have checked it out years ago. I’ve been paying taxes as a solopreneur for years, I wasn’t yet paying estimated taxes, and since I didn’t really have a system for setting the money aside, tax time was always a scary time for me. I always wondered if I’d have enough to cover what I’d owe.

This year, it was not a problem, and neither will be paying estimated taxes next year.

I encourage you to check out what Mike has to say, especially if you’ve been putting off becoming a solopreneur because the whole tax thing just seemed too scary.

I love that this system comes from a behavioral angle; it really can be used right away no matter how much you make from your first sale.

We also talk about the very important concept that price dictates perception; a very important concept for working artists!

We wrap up highlighting information on Mike’s newest book, Get Different: Marketing that Can’t be Ignored.

If you’re looking for inspiration and actionable tips for success in a small business that anyone can use, Mike Michalowicz is your guy.

Thanks, Marilyn, I’m glad you found Mike’s information helpful! I use the Profit First system myself and am very happy to say it works. I’m finally able to pay myself without stress because I have a simple system for keeping up with tax payments. Mike’s book is probably the one business book I would recommend to every entrepreneur — if I had to pick just one.
